How do I close the books at period end?
A guide to period-end closing on Apus Platform — from checking balances and reconciliation to locking the period and exporting consolidated reports.
Before you close
Before closing, ensure all period documents are recorded and approved. Apus automatically checks for pending entries and flags discrepancies.
Closing steps
- Go to Finance → Close period.
- Select the period and run the pre-close check.
- Resolve warnings (pending entries, receivable mismatches).
- Confirm closing — the system locks transactions in the period.
Reconcile & lock
Once closed, the period is locked and any change must go through a traceable adjustment entry. Multi-company consolidated reports are generated automatically on one data layer.
Export reports
Export the balance sheet, P&L and cash-flow statement under IFRS or your local GAAP — in parallel if needed.
TIP
Run a weekly pre-close check to cut down period-end closing time.
